Philippine Embassy and Ankara HiltonSA Organize Special Festival for Filipino Cuisine

The Philippine Embassy , ​​in collaboration with Ankara HiltonSA, is preparing to introduce Filipino cuisine to gastronomy enthusiasts in Ankara with the "Flavors of the Philippines: Philippine Food Festival," which will be held for the first time in the capital city. The festival will take place at Ankara HiltonSA between June 15-17, 2026.

As part of the festival, which aims to bring the rich culinary culture and hospitality of the Philippines to Turkey, experienced chefs from the Philippines, Nestor Gregorio Caesar “Nikki” Macaraig III and Ma. Esperanza Corazon “Zaza” Sarmiento , will present a special menu interpreting authentic Filipino flavors with modern culinary techniques.

Organized by the Philippine Embassy, ​​the event aims to strengthen cultural and economic ties between the Philippines and Turkey through gastronomic diplomacy. The festival also seeks to introduce diplomatic circles in Ankara, the international community, and local gastronomy enthusiasts to one of Southeast Asia's rising cuisines.

Throughout the festival, guests will have the opportunity to experience special recipes that reflect the characteristic features of Filipino cuisine, including strong aromas, balanced sweet and sour flavors, and rich use of spices.

Global Interest in Filipino Cuisine is Growing.

Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Jaime Ramon T. Ascalon Jr. stated that the festival is an important step in introducing Filipino gastronomy to a wider audience in Turkey.

Ascalon stated the following in his statement:

“Global interest in Filipino cuisine, known for its bold flavors, vibrant traditions, and unique blend of Asian, Spanish, and local influences, is steadily growing. Through this festival, we hope to share not only our food but also the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people.”

Special Festival Menu

The festival, which will last for three days, will feature a menu showcasing the finest dishes of Filipino cuisine.

The starters include Beef Pares Bruschetta , Sinigang Croquettes , Okoy (Vegetable Fritters) , Kinilaw (Filipino Seafood Ceviche) , and Spring Roll Salad with Tofu and Oyster Mushrooms .

Main courses include Seafood Square Noodles , Lamb Kaldereta , Beef Ribs with Coconut Adobo Sauce , Chicken Tinola , and Grilled Chicken Sisig .

The dessert menu will feature Ube Triliçe , a beloved dish from Filipino cuisine , and Halo-Halo, a traditional shaved ice dessert .

The Philippine Embassy is inviting representatives of diplomatic missions in Ankara, the international community, and gastronomy enthusiasts to this special event to experience firsthand the growing popularity of Filipino cuisine worldwide.
