TatilBudur, one of Türkiye's leading travel technology platforms, shared its demand data for the Eid al-Adha holiday. This year's extended holiday period has changed vacation habits. Holidaymakers are opting for longer stays and travel plans that combine multiple experiences.
Offering affordable domestic and international holiday options throughout the year. HolidayBudurThey reviewed reservations made specifically for the Eid al-Adha holiday, which begins on May 27th.
With the extended holiday period, an increase in accommodation durations is noticeable. Vacationers are opting for programs of 5 nights or more, and holiday plans encompassing multiple routes rather than a single destination are gaining prominence. Programs combining beach holidays with cultural tours are among the most prominent travel trends of this period. Ultra All-Inclusive resorts, especially on the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, remain a top choice for vacationers. In addition to all this, choosing packages with easy cancellation options when budgeting is a notable user habit during this period.
Regarding the preliminary assessment of Eid al-Adha Onur Otruş, General Manager of TatilBudur;
"The extended holiday period this year allowed our guests to spread their plans over a longer time. We are seeing a demand focused not just on relaxation, but also on exploration. Instead of limiting themselves to a single destination, holidaymakers now want to combine different experiences within the same holiday. We anticipate that the current occupancy rate of 52% will settle in the 80-90% range during the holiday week as last-minute bookings and flight schedules become clearer.” Said.
European tours and visa-free routes are attracting interest abroad.
The extended holiday period has also increased interest in international travel. European destinations such as Italy and Spain are in high demand, with cities like Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, and London standing out. For visa-free alternatives, the Balkans, Thailand, and Baku are among the preferred routes for holidaymakers.
Cultural Tours and Combined Programs are on the Rise
One of the most striking trends this year is the increased interest in cultural tours. Tours to GAP (Southeastern Anatolia Project), Cappadocia, the Black Sea region, and Lycia are in high demand, and vacationers are opting for programs that combine these routes with seaside holidays. Furthermore, demand is rising not only for tours departing from Istanbul, but also from Ankara, Bursa, and Eskişehir. This indicates that travel plans are becoming more accessible to a wider audience.
